Cons

We have now talked about some great benefits that cannabis can impart to us. But like any other drug, it has its fair share of cons that we must be wary of. Here are just some of the cons of cannabis:

Impairs Learning Processes:

Cannabis is particularly harmful to students and other people who are in the learning stage in their lives. It makes you stop thinking in a rational, smart way and stops you from concentrating on the matter in front of you.

Increases the Base Heart Rate of the User:

Too much usage of marijuana can also increase your heart rate above its normal values, which can lead many problems and medical emergencies.

May Instigate Respiratory Illness:

This is most pertinent to people who choose to smoke marijuana. People who smoke marijuana can be seen developing a chronic cough. They also wheeze and have some trouble breathing. Other than that, marijuana smokers can also contract diseases like bronchitis and they produce more sputum in their cough than normal people.

Makes the User Apathetic:

When high, marijuana smokers are unaware of the happenings in their surroundings. In times when they need to be alert like during confrontations or danger, this can prove to be quite a drawback. The apathy stays as long as the marijuana is in the system.
