Initially introduced in 2006, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has signed into law the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (Establishment) Act, 2017 that would provide national direction in cancer research, control and treatment; guide scientific improvements to cancer prevention, treatment and care, coordinate and coordinate actions for cancer care.
