MSMEs can now company their NAFDAC product registration process within 3 months at half the current price

The National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has announced a 50 percent reduction in the cost of products registration for companies with or less than five employees.

The disclosure was made by the Acting Director of NAFDAC, Mr Ademola Mogbojuri at stakeholder consultative meeting in Kano.

According to Ademola, the reduction in the cost of product registration is to encourage Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to register their products. He further stated that NAFDAC has set in place modalities to reduce time of registration MSMEs used to obtain operating license, from one or two years to three months.

In line with this, NAFDAC has established Small Business Support Desk (SBSD) to guide small business through registration processes and also serves as point of enquiry on regulatory issues.

He added that NAFDAC has also established product registration outreach in order to provide interactive engagement and advice on documentation, labeling and other requirements, to facilitate the registration process.
