The call to suspend the strike was in consideration of the plight of health of the well meaning public in order to create a platform for amicable resolution of its dispute with the federal government.
The decision to suspend the strike was due to the intervention of the National Industrial Court (NIC) which agrees to serve as a mediator between JOHESU and the government.
Recall before now, the Incorporated Trustees of the Kingdom Human Rights Foundation (KHRFI) has obtained court order restraining JOHESU from further strike action and to suspend the strike by 21st May, 2018.
JOHESU in a swift response filled an appeal at the appellate court to challenge the court order obtained by KHRFI.
In line with the mediation role to be chaired by the mediation centre of NIC, the leadership of the striking health workers (JOHESU) has directed the members of the union to resume duties while await the outcome of the negotiation and reconciliation process.
